Bitonto, Italy. 2017

Bitonto, Italy. 4 – 6 October 2017

Second Transnational Meeting is taking place in Bitonto from  4th to 6th October 2017. Two teachers from each country are meeting again, to  fix the working lines for the second year.

The meeting has started sharing a day visiting Monte Sant Angelo, Siponto and Trani.

At Monte Sant Angelo, we could visit the groute, a pilgrimage place since the early Middle Ages, but also we could have a walk around this lovely town full of small shops showing the typical products of the region.

After lunch, we have travelled throught Siponto, where we have gazed the difference between the new and the old. With two versions of Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore.

Finally, we arrived to the sea, to Trani. There we have seen the castle Federico II built, the cathedral dedicated to Sant Nicolas the pilgrim and the harbour.

The second day of the Meeting, in the morning, we were working hard. We met the School Headmaster, but we also made a review of the first year of project. Later, we presented the activities to be done during this second year.

After the presentation of the new activities, we had the opportunity to visit the beautiful Medieval Bitonto:

After having dinner all together, we retourned to our hotel, where all of us  toasted the second year of the project.

Finally, our third day in Bitonto arrived, and we  started by visiting an ancient oven in Bitonto, where we could still see how focaccia were cooked as in ancient times:

After that, we travelled to Alberobello and could visit the trulli,   the traditional construction of this area:

In the afternoon,  after a wonderful meal, we visited  Egnazia, the roman ruins close to via Traiana:

An finally visited Polignano, where we visited the old city:

These days were wonderfull. Thank you very much to our italian friends Carmen and Maddalena. You are just wonderful!
